The Indian wedding, dressed and delivered.
Named Indian designers, cut to each person's own measurements — for everyone in the room, across every function, arriving weeks before the date.
You were going to fly to India.
Weeks of planning, airfares for four or five people, days walking markets in the heat, garments stitched under time pressure by a tailor you met last Tuesday, and the whole wedding carried home in suitcases and hand luggage.
That trip is our competitor — not another website. Chaayaa exists to make it unnecessary.
We sell the scheme first, and the garments within it.
Families don’t want twenty-six separate purchases. They want a wedding that looks composed — the two mothers coordinated but distinct, the groom’s party matched, a palette that shifts function by function. No family achieves that buying from five sources in three countries.
Four to six outfits across the functions, and the heaviest work of the wedding.
Sherwani, ceremony and reception looks, cut to sit with the bride rather than against her.
Several looks each, coordinated across both families. Comfort and ease of wear come first.
Matched or coordinated per function, always inside the scheme’s palette.
One link. Eighty guests. No wardrobe to manage.
Every wedding gets a page of its own: the couple, the functions, the palette and dress notes for each, and a selection that sits within the scheme. Guests order in their own names and pay for themselves — and can choose the couple’s gift on the same visit.
The couple gets a wedding that looks composed without chasing anyone. Guests get an answer to the question they were going to ask anyway.
Standard sizing · default: Pick a size from our chart. Still cut to order in India — just no measuring, a quicker turnaround and a lower price.
Made to measure · upgrade: Measured remotely like the wedding party and cut to you. Earlier cutoff, limited in peak season.
See an example linkEach guest who orders leaves a measurement profile behind — and a wedding of their own, or their sister’s, somewhere ahead. Guest measurements and spend are private to the guest; the couple only sees that they’ve ordered.
One wedding, two surfaces. Only one of them is public.
Every wedding project gets a private workspace for the family and a public page for the guests. They share the same information, but they’re built for different people.
The workspace
Where the wedding is run. Everything we make is driven by it, so nothing lives in someone’s head or a spreadsheet.
- Guest list, RSVPs and delivery addresses
- Functions, each with its palette and dress notes
- The wedding party, their looks and measurements
- Every order, consignment and delivery date
- The timeline, worked back from the date
- Payment plan, billed separately to each family
The wedding page
The couple’s wedding first, presented well — with Chaayaa’s part visible but secondary.
- The couple, the venue and the schedule of functions
- Travel and timing notes
- What to wear to each function, and where to order it
- The wish list and contribution fund, if the couple wants them
- RSVP, flowing straight back into the workspace
- Open, unlisted or code-protected — the couple decides
Nothing sensitive crosses from one to the other. Measurements, order values, payment plans and the family’s own timeline are never public. Two families can share one scheme and one schedule without either seeing the other’s invoice.
We work backwards from a date that cannot move.
Thirty garments across twenty-five people in four countries, plus boxes and cards, converging on one morning. Managing that is arguably the product.
A late delivery isn't a refund conversation. It's a family without clothes for a function, and it's the story they tell for years. That's why the schedule is built before the volume arrives.
Everything the wedding wears, and everything it sends.
Invitations and cards
Printed in India, light to ship, ordered months ahead — with digital invitations alongside. Priced to begin the relationship, not to earn on their own.
Made-to-measure garments
Cut to the individual, from designers whose work isn’t sold in these markets. Every piece credited by name.
Sample-first fitting
For the bride, groom and both mothers: a trial garment made from your measurements and shipped to try. Charged, then credited against the order.
Fabric swatches
Colour on a screen isn’t colour in a room. The palette arrives as cloth, early, so nobody is guessing.
Gifting boxes
Fit-free by tradition, hierarchical by custom. Give us the relationships and a budget; we build to the correct tier.
Return gifts
Potlis and token gifts, ordered from the same guest list as the cards. Designed so you can add sweets and dry fruit locally.
Jewellery
Kundan, polki-style, temple pieces, jhumkas and bridal sets — fashion jewellery chosen to sit within each look’s palette.
Ceremony supplies
Puja samagri, haldi sets, thalis, kalash, ring platters and artificial varmala — hard to find abroad at the right quality.
Accessories
Dupattas, stoles, potlis, juttis, turbans and safas — the difference between a garment and a finished outfit.
The wish list
Brass, linens, dhurries, marble and silver from India, with a shagun fund alongside. Gifts are consolidated and shipped once, duties already paid.
Personal shoppers
Someone to take the family through the whole wedding. Included with a wedding project, or booked on its own.
Live shopping
Broadcast from designer studios in India. The cloth, the weight of the work, and the hands doing it.
A trip to India can’t be paid for monthly. A wedding with us can.
Two ways in, to the same catalogue and the same standard of work.
Pay as you go
Wedding project
Paid ahead, not on credit: Your deposit holds the scheme and the production slot. Instalments build towards the order, cutting begins once an agreed amount is reached, and everything ships once it’s paid in full.
Your money, held apart: Instalments are kept separate from our operating funds until your goods are made. You’re paying well before you receive anything, so you should know how it’s held.
If the date moves: Weddings move. Our terms set out what happens to your payments and to work in progress at each stage, so booking early never carries a hidden penalty.
A bride wants to know whose work she is wearing.
Every designer is named and credited — on the product page, in the wedding room, and in whatever the guests ask about afterwards.
Stated plainly, before you buy.
Measured remotely, verified properly: A guided session with our team by video, or a professional tailor you engage locally working to our specification sheet. A garment you already own and wear well serves as the cross-check. Anything outside expected proportions is queried before cutting.
No returns for change of mind: Garments are cut to one person, so we don’t accept returns for a change of mind, or for measurements supplied to us incorrectly. This is standard in made-to-measure and we say it before you order, not after.
If the fault is ours, we remake it: Measurements we took, a stitching fault, transit damage, or a piece that doesn’t match what was shown — remade or altered at our cost. Where a garment is correct to spec but doesn’t sit as hoped, we pay a tailor in your own city.
A person on WhatsApp: Measurement questions, fabric and colour, scheduling and delivery — not a channel kept for complaints. Wish list gifts, which aren’t made to measure, carry their own returns and breakage policy.
The list matters as much as the other one.
No decorations or on-site work: Venue decor and day-of setup are local jobs with local labour. A failure there would carry our name without being in our control.
No wedding planning: We supply what the wedding wears and sends. We don’t coordinate vendors, venues or the day.
No manufactured urgency: No unit counters, no artificial stock limits. The only deadline we quote is the real one.
No exclusivity we can’t keep: Our value is access and fit, not a promise about who else owns one.
No resale marketplace: A garment cut to one person isn’t meaningfully resaleable to another.
No fine or precious jewellery: Our jewellery is fashion and imitation only. Precious pieces would slow every consignment they travelled in.
No perishables: Sweets, dry fruit and fresh garlands can’t cross these borders reliably. Our packaging leaves room for what you buy locally.
No speculative stock: Everything is made or assembled against a confirmed order. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be marked down.
Tell us the date. We’ll work backwards from it.
Stored and refined measurements, early views, priority production in peak season, and a personal shopper when you want one.
