Discover our approach02 / OUR APPROACH
Indian weddingwear is shaped by the people who make it: the designers, textile specialists, embroiderers and tailors whose work gives each garment its character.
Chaayaa researches named Indian designers and independent ateliers, alongside makers of replica and designer-inspired styles. We consider the fabric, embroidery, construction and suitability of each option for the people and ceremonies in your wedding.
From silks and velvets to lighter fabrics, chosen for the garment and occasion.
Zardozi, aari, chikankari and other techniques, with workmanship reviewed for each garment.
Original designer collections, independent creations and clearly identified replica styles.
Cut and fit considered alongside the finish and movement of the garment.
Designer relationships and individual collections are subject to confirmation. Replica-style garments must be accurately described and must not be misrepresented as original designer products.
Every wedding has its own style and priorities. Chaayaa explores original designer collections, independent ateliers and replica weddingwear, so families can consider different approaches to design, craftsmanship and budget.

Independent Indian designers and makers offer their own interpretations of wedding clothing, with attention to fabric, embroidery, construction and made-to-order fit.
Replica and designer-inspired styles offer another way to explore elaborate wedding looks at different budgets. They are independently made, clearly described, and never represented as authentic designer originals.
For couples, the wedding wardrobe is often built in dialogue: what the bride wears, what the groom wears, and how each look reflects the same occasion in a different way.
The bride’s wardrobe can move between ceremony and celebration, with silhouettes, embroidery and colour playing different roles across the wedding.
The groom’s choices are shaped with the same care: fabric, embroidery, fit and the balance between individuality and tradition.
Together, the two wardrobes create one celebration — complementary, personal and grounded in the same wedding story.
An Indian wedding brings together two families, each with their own traditions and tastes. Chaayaa considers outfits for everyone attending each function, with a shared colour palette and room for personal style.
At least five outfits each, considered together without making either mother look identical.
Sherwanis, bandhgalas, sarees and other looks selected with ease of wear in mind.
Colours that connect the group, while each person's clothing reflects their own taste.
Garments considered for movement, growing children and the ceremonies they attend.
Each person needs a separate outfit for every ceremony they attend. The result is a family wardrobe that feels connected, without asking everyone to dress alike.
Beautiful wedding clothing begins with fabric, construction and fit. Chaayaa considers each garment in the context of the person wearing it and the ceremony it is made for.
Garments are cut to order in India. Measurements are guided remotely or taken by a local tailor using Chaayaa’s specification sheet, with fit details checked before cutting.
For the bride, groom and both mothers, a charged sample-first fitting is part of the process, with the sample charge credited against the final order.
Fabric and colour are considered for the ceremony, garment design and family palette, with cloth swatches viewed in daylight.
Embroidery, lining, finishing and ease of movement are considered alongside how the garment should look.
A guided phone or video session, or a local tailor following Chaayaa’s measurement guide, helps establish individual fit.
Each order is planned around the wedding date. Garments are produced for the confirmed order rather than taken from held stock.
